about blessed botanicals

our productsBlessed Botanicals is a small organic herbal tea company based in Western North Carolina. Its tea blends set it apart from other companies offering herbal infusions. We offer blends made from certified organic herbs of exceptional quality. Our blends are created with careful attention to taste as well as health benefits.

our philosophy
Blessed Botanicals is committed to offering the highest quality herbs attainable while supporting organic and sustainable agriculture and fair trade practices.

our goals
As we grow we aspire to maintain our local and regional presence offering opportunities in Western North Carolina. We will continue to support education on the medicinal use of herbs and the survival of this healing tradition with a primary focus of its' history in the Appalachias.

Blessed Botanicals will soon be launching the Ropes to God Fund (RGF), an non-profit supported by the sales of the Ropes to God blend. The RGF will continue to provide funding to the Indigenous Land Rights Fund and will also seek out opportunities to offer financial assistance to developing communites and programs that support women and children. Blessed Botanicals' founder, Tara Mele, started with an education in sustainable development and is passionate about grass roots development and human rights. She will continue to be involved with Blessed Botanicals through her participation in the Ropes to God Fund.

our blessing
Blessed Botanicals is now owned by Tara Lee Fitzgibbon, a licensed Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist. Tara and her husband Gerald owned Turtle Dragon Herb & Tea Company in Tybee Island Georgia. At the Turtle Dragon, Tara worked as an acupuncturist and herbalist, and also ran a tea shop and retail store. At Greenlife Grocery in Asheville, Tara and Gerald picked up an unexpected blessing in a tin of Blessed Botanicals "My Last Nerve". As an herbalist, Tara was so impressed with the wonderful flavors and creative blending of medicinal herbs, that they put the entire line in the tea shop. The response to the herbal teas was amazing. "I could not keep them on the shelves." "I served the teas, and they just sold themselves."

Fulfilling a lifelong dream, Tara and Gerald have purchased a farm in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina and moved there with their family in January 2007. When they sold the Turtle Dragon and were planning their move, Tara contacted Tara Mele, and asked her if she would be interested in selling Blessed Botanicals. As this blessing would have it, she was. "We are now blessed with a wonderful business that we can run from our farm." They are excited about being able to contribute to the local organic farming market by buying locally grown herbs and bringing jobs to the local area as the company grows. Making it a truely family business, Tara's mother Judy Lee is joining the company to be in charge of sales and marketing.
