NEW OWNERS TAKE COMPANY TO WORLD TEA EXPO
ASHEVILLE, NC - April 10, 2007. Blessed Botanicals is an organic herbal tea and spice company offering creative blends that have outstanding flavors and promote health. The company was purchased in January of this year by Tara Fitzgibbon, Gerald Fitzgibbon, and Judy Lee. Tara Fitzgibbon is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist. She and her husband Gerald, a Licensed Physical Therapist, owned the Turtle Dragon Herb and Tea Company in Tybee Island, GA before relocating to Western North Carolina. Their passion for teas, herbs, and social responsibility made Blessed Botanicals the perfect business opportunity for them. Judy Lee has worked as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas for the past 12 years. She is retiring from private practice to bring her 25 years of sales and marketing experience to the company. The family's goal is to help support the local economy by sourcing herbs from local organic farms and by providing employment opportunities as the company grows. The business currently operates from White Oak Farm near Burnsville, NC.
Intensive training in Chinese herbal medicine gave Tara Fitzgibbon a special understanding of herbal formulas and how herbs compliment each other. When she discovered the line of Blessed Botanicals at Greenlife Grocery in Asheville, she fell in love with the unique and imaginative way the blends use medicinal herbs with flavorful herbs to make infusions that taste good and promote healing. She is excited about expanding the line with her own creations.
Blessed Botanicals will be exhibiting their products and participating in special events at the World Tea Expo in Atlanta, GA, June 9-11 2007. The new owners of Blessed Botanicals will be representing their company and Western North Carolina by showcasing their organic herbal tea blends and culinary blends at the Expo. They can be found at Booth number 139 on the showroom floor.
The World Tea Expo is the largest trade-only conference in the world showcasing tea and tea related products, and was named among the Fastest 50 Growing Shows in North America. The specialty tea market is growing in North America and cornering a percentage of the expanding $6.8 billion dollar tea industry.
Saturday, June 9th at 2:30 pm on the Expo floor, Chef Hugh Acheson of Five & Ten in Atlanta will be presenting a Cooking with Tea Demonstration sponsored by Blessed Botanicals. The Chef will create a dish using a blend from the Blessed Botanicals line.
